As all building and structures vary, and some areas are inaccessible, the duration of mold inspections will vary between the 2 hour minimum, up to several days. Each additional hour will be billed $375 per hour accordingly. Square footage is not necessarily the only issue at play. In some cases, hidden mold growth may not be obvious. If the building smells moldy, but you cannot see the source, you are dealing with hidden mold. It is possible that mold may be growing on hidden surfaces, such as the back of drywall, white & chalk boards, the backs of acoustical ceiling tiles, and the underside of carpets and pads. Studies estimate one-third of U.S. schools have mold, dust and other indoor air problems. Possible locations for school building mold may include outdated HVAC systems, the area around cafeteria walk-in refrigerators, condensate drain pans inside air handling units, porous thermal or acoustic liners inside ductwork, and roofing materials.
